NCShakes Resumes Costume, Props Rentals
HIGH POINT, N.C. β After a brief suspension of operations, The North Carolina Shakespeare Festival (NCShakes) Costume Shop has renewed its popular costume rental program.
The Costume Shop is now open for rentals Tuesdays from 2:00 β 5:00 pm and by appointment.
NCShakes has been renting its extensive stock of costumes to schools, theatres and the general public for over 25 years. Its rental program has become particularly popular with high schools throughout the Piedmont Triad because of the breadth and quality of its costume stock and its very reasonable rental rates.
According to Michael Johnson, MFA, Director of Dramatics at Trinity High School, βThe Costume Shop at NCShakes has been invaluable to my theater program. Having wonderful period costumes available for my students has been an inspiration -- a wonderful opportunity -- spurring our own achievements in costume design and construction. It would be difficult for me to produce high quality award-winning theater at the high school level without the flexible and inspiring support of the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival Costume Shop and staff.β
NCShakes Costume Shop is run by Jennifer Ackland, an accomplished Costume Shop manager and costume designer who has had a long history of service with the theatre.
